Julie received her degree in Vocal Music at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain, GA and continued on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she received a Masters in Music Performance (Choral Conducting). During music school, she discovered her love and need for Yoga. A dear friend encouraged Julie to pursue becoming a Yoga Instructor. Thanks to that friend, Julie completed Yoga Teacher Training at Hot Yoga Plus Chattanooga with Johnna Smith and Kathryn Smith in 2013. She went on to receive additional yoga Intensive Trainings with CorePower Yoga in NYC.
Julie lives in Astoria with her husband and works as a freelance Yoga Instructor and Music Director. She has a passion for teaching yoga and specifically loves working with beginners - yoga changed her life and she wants to teach YOU the tools to develop and maintain your own personal practice! Julie is deeply and especially interested in yoga's impact on artists - dancers, actors, painters, writers, singers, pianists, violinists - and seeing the positive effects spending time on your mat each day can clarify your mind and strengthen your craft off the mat. Yoga is an amazing medicine for the mind and body. Yoga is for everyone - every age, walk of life, and body type!
See you in class!
